In 1996, the company Zürcher Bau GmbH requested Steinbeis-Transferzentrum in Offenburg to provide them with a time recording system for construction work. This request was made as there was no system on the market offering the functionality, the mobility and durability necessary in the construction business. After many years of development work, the first mobile and portable instruments with PC based software were created, allowing the visualisation and processing of stamped time slips.
The company Zürcher Hard and Software was founded in January 1997, from which date they took over the development of the system. By October 1997 the system had matured and about 50 vehicles and 160 workers were equipped with the electronic data recording system. Since mid-1998 the LOGGER has also been sold to other companies in over-ground construction and civil engineering.
Since October 2003 the Zürcher Hard- und Software GmbH has been totally independent from Zürcher Bau. Mid-2005 the company moved from Meisenheim to Lahr.
